Play chess vs computer
The built-in engine is Stockfish — the strongest open-source chess engine — compiled to WebAssembly and running inside your browser. The game never leaves your machine: the board, the moves and the post-game analysis all work locally.
Pick one of five fixed levels before the game starts. The level pins the engine's strength for the whole game, and in rated play it cannot be switched mid-game.
The five levels
Each level anchors the engine near a human Elo rating, so you always know what you are up against:
- Beginner — around Elo 1000. Punishes only the loudest mistakes; practice bringing every piece into the game.
- Amateur — around Elo 1300. Picks up loose pieces and simple tactical chances.
- Club — around Elo 1600. A solid opponent that rewards having a plan.
- Expert — around Elo 2000. Sharp tactics: careless moves lose material quickly.
- Master — around Elo 2700. Full-strength sparring; expect to defend long, difficult positions.
Rated engine games
Logged-in players can play rated games against the engine: results update a separate engine rating (Glicko-2), independent of your online rating. The server replays every move and verifies checkmates and draws itself — a claimed win the board does not support simply stays unrated.
Analysis and history
Every game can be saved to your cabinet and analysed afterwards: best moves, evaluations and blunder flags are computed in the browser once the game ends. Take moves back while you play, offer a draw or resign — the choice of a training session is yours.
