Botvinnik's Method

Botvinnik's method is the systematic preparation of a pawn break: every piece is first brought to its best square, reserves are doubled behind the future open line, and only then is the position torn open. Nothing is improvised, and the opponent's counter-chances are calculated to the tempo. The chapter illustrates the method in Botvinnik's own games.
