A Cage for the Bishop
The extreme case of restriction: the bishop is locked into a cage of enemy and friendly pawns alike, from which it never escapes. Building the cage usually costs a weakening or a small material investment, and the examples weigh the price against the gain. When the cage is complete, the game is played with an extra piece.
