Nimzowitsch's Castling
Nimzowitsch's castling is the transfer of the king to a safe flank by hand, in several quiet moves, when real castling is impossible or undesirable. The king walks along prepared routes — usually behind its own pawns — while the opponent's pieces stand idle. The examples show the manoeuvre and the threats it neutralises.
