Boleslavsky's Maneuver

Boleslavsky's maneuver sends the key piece on a detour through the rear to reach its ideal square, out of reach of enemy pawns and exchanges. The route matters as much as the destination: the piece stays flexible until the last moment, and the opponent never knows where it will land. The chapter follows the manoeuvre from its origin in Boleslavsky's Sicilian practice.
